چکیده

Figure 2 The cut plastic packaging is a perfect contour to fit neatly over the talus component without risking abrasive damage to the tibia. facturer’s technique. We use the thin plastic covering accompanying the sterile tibial implant (Fig 1) to protect the talus during tibial insertion. The dome-shaped plastic covering can be trimmed to a smaller talar-sized piece to cover the talus, leaving an unobstructed view during tibial component insertion in the standard fashion (Fig 2). With both implants seated, the plastic can be exchanged for the implant bearing.

Arterial versus Venous Fluid Resuscitation; Restoring Cardiac Contractions in Cardiac Arrest Following Exsanguinations

Background: Arterial cannulation and intra-arterial (IA) fluid and blood resuscitation in the patients with severe shock is an easier approach compared with the intravenous (IV) access if concerns regarding the efficiency and safety of this approach are addressed. Objectives: We hypothesized that IA fluid resuscitation is more effective than IV resuscitation in restoring cardiac contractions (C...

Intracardiac therapy following emergency thoracotomy in the accident and emergency department: an experimental model.

For a select group of patients with penetrating chest trauma, immediate thoracotomy in the accident and emergency department offers the only chance of survival. Foley catheters have been used to achieve haemostasis in cardiac wounds but are not widely used for intracardiac fluid and drug administration during resuscitation. In an anatomical model designed to assess this procedure an average flo...

The efficacy of inferior vena cava diameters and the jugular vein in assessing fluid resuscitation

Objective: Fluid resuscitation is necessary in almost all critical patients. The central venous pressure (CVP) is a well-established method of assessing resuscitation. Recently, there have been attempts to investigate less invasive methods like the diameters of inferior vena cava (IVC) or the jugular vein. We aimed to investigate this method in our research. Methods: Seventy eight critical...

Restrictive versus Liberal Fluid Resuscitation in Children with Dengue Shock Syndrome: the differences in Clinical Outcomes and Hemodynamic Parameters

Background: Fluid resuscitation is the mainstay of treatment to counteract massive plasma leakage in dengue shock syndrome. We aimed to determine the differences in clinical outcomes and hemodynamic parameters of children with dengue shock syndrome post restrictive and liberal fluid resuscitation.  Materials and Methods: A retrospective observational study of pediatric patients who were betwee...
